Introduction
Welcome to the Pathway Law User Portal, a service provided by Pathway Law ("we", "us" or "our") to our clients ("you" or "your"). This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your access and use of the Pathway Law User Portal, including any services and features made available through it. This AUP aims to protect both Pathway Law and you while maintaining a positive and secure user experience.
By accessing or using the Pathway Law User Portal, you are indicating that you accept and agree to comply with this AUP. You are not permitted to use the Pathway Law User Portal if you do not accept and agree to comply with this AUP.
Permissible Uses
the Pathway Law User Portal is intended to provide access to certain services, features, and resources as a courtesy to our clients in connection to accessing legal services offered to them by Pathway Law. At our sole discretion, we may grant you access to and use of the Pathway Law User Portal and the services, features, and resources that we make available to you in the Pathway Law User Portal. You do not have or retain any right to access or use the Pathway Law User Portal. All use must be lawful, in compliance with this AUP, with the separate Privacy Policy, and with the separate Terms of Service, and be consistent with the intended purposes of the Pathway Law User Portal.
Prohibited Uses
No one accessing or using the Pathway Law User Portal may use the service or conduct themselves in any manner that is, or could be construed to be, any of the following:
- Illegal Activity: Engaging in any actions or activities that violate Ontario provincial laws, Canadian federal laws, or violate the privacy rights of others.
- Offensive Behaviour: Uploading or sharing offensive, defamatory, harassing, or discriminatory content, engaging in intimidating, threatening, harassing, or abusive behavior toward Pathway Law, our staff or clients, or any other party.
- Intellectual Property Infringement: Displaying, reproducing, modifying, distributing, selling, or creating any derivative works of the Pathway Law User Portal or its services that violate any applicable copyright, trademark, or intellectual property laws.
- Security Violations: Attempting to bypass security measures, gain unauthorized access to the Pathway Law User Portal, or compromise the security of the Pathway Law User Portal, including introducing malware, exploiting vulnerabilities, or engaging in any form of cyberattack.
- Unauthorized Access: Hacking, data mining, or attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Pathway Law User Portal, Pathway Law systems, or user accounts.
- Tampering with Services: Disrupting, altering or interfering with the operation of the Pathway Law User Portal or associated services.
- Misuse of Resources: Engaging in activities that result in excessive use of resources, such as bandwidth, storage, API calls, or automated tools, or in any other manner that negatively impacts other users or the performance or overall operation of the Pathway Law User Portal or any of its services.
- Spamming and Phishing: Sending unsolicited communications, spam, or conducting phishing attacks on Pathway Law, our staff or clients, or any other party.
Intellectual Property and Content Ownership
All content and materials provided in the Pathway Law User Portal, and all intellectual property rights in the Pathway Law User Portal, including but not limited to software, design, and content, are owned by Pathway Law. Pathway Law grants you limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to access and use the Pathway Law User Portal solely for its intended purposes. This licence does not permit you to reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Pathway Law User Portal content without our express permission.
Any content you add, generate, or upload to the Pathway Law User Portal remains your property. However, Pathway Law may use this content as necessary to provide services, subject to privacy laws and regulations. You grant Pathway Law a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and modify the content for the purposes of providing you with the Pathway Law User Portal and its services and providing you with the legal services provided by Pathway Law.
Moderation and Privacy
Pathway Law reserves the right to monitor, review, and remove any content that violates this AUP or is deemed inappropriate, without prior notice.
Pathway Law is committed to protecting your personal information and will comply with all applicable privacy laws in Ontario, Canada. Details on data handling can be found in the separate Privacy Policy.
Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy, privacy, confidentiality and security of your account credentials including your email and password used for signing into your account, and for any activities that occur under your account. It is your responsibility to notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access or use of your account.
Enforcement and Penalties
Pathway Law reserves the right to grant, suspend, or terminate access to the Pathway Law User Portal at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of this AUP or non-compliance with the Privacy Policy or the Terms of Service.
Any access or use of the Pathway Law User Portal that we, in our sole discretion, deem to be inconsistent with its intended purposes, or in violation of this AUP, or in non-compliance with the Privacy Policy or the Terms of Service, may result in account suspension, termination, or legal action, without notice or compensation of any kind. Please notify us immediately if you suspect or if you become aware of any violations of this or any other policy so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Changes to the Acceptable Use Policy
Pathway Law reserves the right to update, add, remove, modify, discontinue, or otherwise change this AUP, the Pathway Law User Portal, and its services. Significant changes to the AUP will be communicated to you in advance by email, and the latest version of the AUP will be posted on https://pathway.user.law/acceptable-use. It is your responsibility to review the AUP periodically. By continuing to access or use the Pathway Law User Portal, you are indicating that you accept and agree to comply with this AUP and any changes made to it.
